The customized Jawa 42 featured a completely different set of handlebar unit. The owner replaced the stock handlebar of the Jawa 42 with a comfortable cruiser styled handlebar from UM Commando. The handlebar has changed the rider triangle completely and added a laid back riding stance which definitely makes the motorcycle comfortable for long rides.
Besides the new handlebar, the motorcycle also gets a fabricated and well-padded split seat that replaced the stock single piece unit. The Jawa 42 has also been fitted with a tall UM commando windshield to protect the rider from heavy windblasts while riding at high speeds on the highway.
For the comfort of the pillion, the motorcycle also gets a backrest as well. This is the first Jawa 42 bike in India that actually features a backrest for the pillion. The accessorised Jawa 42 also gets a luggage carrier at the rear to carry all the additional luggage.
The owner of this Jawa 42 also has a Royal Enfield Himalayan and thus he fabricated the entire frame setup for Royal Enfield Himalayan aluminium panniers. This mod has been done purposefully so that he can easily shuffle the panniers on both bikes without much hassle.
The Jawa twins share the same hardware and engine. Both the motorcycles are powered by the same 293cc, liquid cooled, fuel injected, single cylinder, DOHC engine. This unit paired with a six-speed gearbox produces about 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The Jawa twins promise to return an ARAI certified 37.5 kmpl per litre of fuel.
The prices for the Jawa 42 single channel ABS variant starts from Rs 1.55 Lakh (ex-showroom) while the dual-channel ABS variant is priced at Rs 1.63 Lakh (ex-showroom).
