Vervisch’s win was also for overall honours in the event, taking the win with co-drivers Dries Vanthoor, Pierre Kaffer and Frank Stippler, all driving a Phoenix Racing-run Audi R8 LMS.
Other World Touring Car Cup drivers competing in the leading SP9 class included Hyundai drivers Nicky Catsburg and Augusto Farfus, competing with ROWE Racing and Schnizter Motorsport respectively, but both drivers’ BMW M6 GT3s were very early retirements in the race.

Tom Coronel, following on from his career-best WTCR finish on Saturday of sixth, did complete the full 24 hours, racing in a Nissan GTR with all Japanese team-mates – finishing tenth in the leading SP9 class.
Tiago Monteiro meanwhile won the TCR class of the race, technically his first race victory since his racing comeback after his severe injury two years’ ago. Monteiro was racing with co-drivers Dominik Fugel, Markus Oestreich and Cedrik Totz in a Castrol Honda Civic FK8 TCR. The Honda crew finished ahead of the Target Competition Hyundai Veloster N, which was leading up until the final six hours, before the car was towed back to the paddock and lost all hope of catching the Honda.
